The foliage on this must-have plant is heart-shaped and velvety, with prominent, off-white veins contrast against lush green leaves. Native to Colombia, this plant is a terrestrial Philodendron, which means it crawls on the ground as opposed to climbing trees.

Being a tropical plant, Philodendron Gloriosum will appreciate high humidity. However, it makes for a wonderful tropical houseplant because it doesn’t require these conditions to thrive. While growth will likely be quicker and larger in higher humidity, this beautiful Aroid also grows well in moderate humidity.

Make sure you plant your Gloriosum in an airy potting mix. It should consist of bark, perlite, and peat moss.
